Photograph Notes: This pod of six killer whales was caught
together at the surface. While three of the whales are just going under the water
at the very left and right edges of the picture, one was just starting to surface
and wave one of its fins while we watched from shore. This pod was probably about
100 yards offshore and heading away from us.
The soft fog on the horizon helped isolate the image of the whales on
the water. |
